Music Streams in the United States in the first half of this year grew by the largest volume ever seen

According to Nelson Music's Mid-Year report on the market, there were 403.4 billion total music streams in the US in the six months to the end of June of 2018. Of that number 268.2 billion streams (+45.4%) were on audio platforms and 135.2 billion (+34.7%) was on video platforms.

On the annual Total US half-year on-demand streaming growth chart, in 2018 it shows video streams came in at 34.8bn which is smaller than it shows in 2015 at 40bn.

Let me clarify the Nielson Music doesn't differentiate between paid and ad-funded streams so its difficult to predict how this will impact the industry revenue figures,  but overall signs are definitely positive.
